Publisher of children’s magazine in 103 languages including Angika battles cancer

CUTTACK: Bijay Mohapatra, the publisher who achieved the rare distinction of publishing a children`s magazine called ” Suna Bhauni” in over a 100 languages, is now struggling for his life. The 42-year-old is suffering from renal cancer and undergoing treatment at the Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre. The disease has spread to his abdomen and he is believed to be in a critical condition. Mohapatra struggled all his life to popularize Indian languages among children by publishing the magazine in 103 languages, including the lesser known Ho, Angika and Bajika, without any financial help from the government. His hard work paid off in the form of several awards and a mention in the Limca Book of Records.
